Blast Camp Paintball to Host Event on Historic Site

logoPaintball players from throughout the nation and world will gather for the 4th annual Viper Paintball Red Strike event at Blastcamp Paintball in Hobart on Aug. 9 and Aug. 10. Approximately 450 players are expected to participate in the event, with players coming from Australia, Canada, Texas and more.

According to Virgil Frey, owner of Blastcamp Paintball, Red Strike is a 26-hour scenario game that will take players back in time to the days of the Cold War. Frey explains that as troops from the Soviet Union make their way to the Nike Missile Base C-47 to seize control, the US military must take back the site and save humanity.

The storyline of the event ties into the history of Blastcamp Paintball, which is stationed on the decommissioned Nike Missile Base C-47.

“Our history is what makes us so unique,” explains Frey. “We stand out because we are on a historic site, a decommissioned Nike missile site, and, of course, we are playing off all of that history.”

Players interested in registering for the Red Strike event may do so on Friday, Aug. 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 8:00 a.m. Cost to participate is $60 per person for event entry and gear rental, and paint will cost $65 per box of 2,000 paintballs.

In addition to special events, Blastcamp Paintball offers tournaments, WWII reenactments, Airsoft play, paintball parties, charity events and more.

“Here at Blastcamp, we are a world-class facility, and we are known around the world for that,” said Frey.
