Betty M. Westmoreland, 90 of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021. She was born November 25, 1930 in Clendenin, West Virginia to Orville Maywood and Lona Belle (Short) Reynolds. Betty is survived by her children James Michael King of Colfax, Indiana, John (Jennifer) King of Rochester, Illinois, Karen (Dan) Shidler of Rochester, Indiana, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and her sister Nancy Marcum of Westville. She was preceded in death by her sons Gregory and Bob, her parents, and three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Culver, Indiana and the Moose Lodge in Chesterton. Betty many years ago worked for Miller’s Mart and Fetla’s Bargain Center and Trading Post in Valparaiso. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 1st at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St. in Westville. Pastor Mark Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
