The Michigan City Mainstreet Association and the Uptown Holiday Kick Off Committee are pleased to announce that applications are now available to participate in the First Annual Uptown Holiday Kick Off Parade taking place during the First Friday Art Walk December 6, 2013.
The parade will take place during the Art Walk at 6pm, continue down Franklin Street and will end with Santa coming to town. Santa will be available for visits after the parade. Community nonprofits, if not interested in the parade, are also invited to contribute to the Uptown Holiday Kick Off by offering holiday goods such as hot chocolate and cookies.
This event will also serve to kick off the Winter Wonderland in downtown Michigan City, that features visits with Santa downtown every Saturday, wagon rides and a craft bazaar on December 7th at Barker Hall. Parade applications are available at Ryan’s Irish Pub, the Michigan City Clerk’s Office and online at www.uptownartsdistrict.org.
