AP Scholars rewarded in Michigan City

Twenty-six Michigan City High School juniors and seniors were rewarded with checks from the University of Notre Dame this week, receiving $100 for each Advanced Placement Math, English, and Science test they passed with a score of 3 or higher last spring. An additional 20 MCHS graduates also received the checks. The payments were student incentives provided by the University through its AP TIP-IN (AP Teacher Investment Program for Indiana) program, which also supports MCHS with teacher training, Saturday seminars for students, and other resources. MCHS was named AP TIP-IN School of the Year last year in recognition of its recent successes in Advanced Placement. AP courses provide students rigorous, college-level curricula; universities around the world recognize AP exam scores for admission, credit, and placement.
