Announcing the Southern Shore Music Festival

Southern-Shore-Music-FestivalThe Michigan City Summer Festival is bringing a brand new event to the region with the Southern Shore Music Festival. The event will take place on June 15th at the Guy Foreman Amphitheater in Michigan City and fill an entire day with music starting at 12pm. We'll be featuring the electro-funk band “Ghosthouse” which has been played on Chicago's WXRT and Vocalo radio stations as well as an episode of Jersey Shore. We're also bringing special guest “Big Once” - the 2011 Red Bull Thre3style U.S. Champion DJ to round out a late night of partying.

The Music

We'll be gathering an eclectic group of musicians for our inaugural year with genres spanning bluegrass, rock, hip-hop, and electro-funk. These musicians – some seasoned veterans, some new to the scene – have been gathered from around the region and hand picked for diversity, quality, and originality – you won't find any 'cover' bands here.

And More!

The music starts at 12pm, and during the event food vendors from all over the area, including Sahara Restaurant and Fiesta Valenciana, will be in Michigan City to make sure the Southern Shore Music Festival is something both your ears and taste buds remember. Alcoholic beverages will be available to those 21 years of age and over, consisting of national favorites and local craft brews. Be sure to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets as seating is limited.

General Admission Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door, the LaPorte County Convention & Visitor's Bureau, or on our website @ mcsummerfest.org.
