♪Deck the halls with paper snowmen and some cookie decorations, too.♪
These were just a few of the awesome things that kids got to do at the Memorial Opera House Annie and the Orphans Tea Party and Read-a-Long that took place at Barnes & Noble in Valpo on Sunday afternoon. Children from all over the area got to come and spend the day with little orphan Annie and her friends.
"This is a meet and greet with Annie and her friends," Heather Ames, Marketing for Memorial Opera House said. "We want everyone to know about this amazing show. The cast is truly talented and it's a wonderful story. It's around the holidays, too, so it's a good family play to go and see."
There was lots to do besides the aforementioned crafts. The nefarious Miss Hannigan read stories to the kids, and she was on her best behavior that day. Annie and the other orphans performed "It's The Hard Knock Life" and all who attended got the chance to get their photo taken with the kind-hearted orphan.
Vouchers were handed out to shoppers and when they turned in their voucher at checkout a portion of the proceeds went to the Memorial Opera House.
"The Opera House is really trying to connect with the community," Trinidad Snider, Director of Annie said. "This is a great way to market the show as well as a great way to be seen in the community. The community knows that the Opera House is here, what we're doing, that there are volunteer opportunities, and all kinds of other things."
Don't miss out on this great show at a great local theatre!
