An Explosively Good Time at Lakeview Fundays Fireworks Display

LakeviewFireworks2On July 8, the Lakeview Fundays Fireworks lit up the night sky in Michigan City. Even though people parked anywhere from the beach to the Lighthouse Place, most gathered on the sand to watch the display.

Vendors walked around selling glow sticks to children and adults for $1 each before the event began. One individual decided to fly his kite close to Lake Michigan despite the crowd and the four foot waves proudly thundering as they crashed onto the shore. No one could have expected such beautiful weather for this celebration.

As soon as the signal firework was shot into the air, everyone started to clap and holler choruses of “U.S.A.!” and “America!” The sound of a couple shells firing quickly quieted the crowd to a murmur as the colorful display began.LakeviewFireworks5

Firecrackers ranging from boomers to whistlers lit up the sky as well as large glittering flowers. Hearts and smiley faces were uncovered in the middle of the show in addition to a few bursts looking like the planet Saturn. Zigzags raced across the sky as some fireworks exploded and their tips shot out in opposite directions. “Ohs” and “Ahs” rang throughout the mass of beach onlookers until the finale commenced which produced an array of shock and awe in everyone.

The night was undeniably amazing and it was wonderful to see various communities gather together to celebrate under an illuminated night sky. An immense thank you goes out to the officials who participated in keeping the event safe as well as those who took their time to organize the function. All who attended appreciated the firework fanfare and eagerly await the splendor that is to come next year.LakeviewFireworks4
