GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

The primary responsibility is to ensure and improve proper operation of machines (calendar & extrusion) from a mechanical and technical point of view. This includes trouble-shooting and repairing PLC controls, AC\DC drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and mechanical operations. General building and grounds maintenance are included in the scope of this position as well.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure and improve proper operation of machines (calender)
  • General machine repairs (mechanical)
  • General building repairs. (electrical, plumbing, structure)
  • Fabrication and welding. (stick, mig, brazing and general torch use)
  • Schematic / blue print reading.
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures (5S, Safety, ARC policies)

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma/General Equivalency diploma
  • 2 years Technical schooling plus 3-5 Years proven Maintenance experience OR More than 7 years proven Industrial/ Manufacturing Maintenance experience
  • Mill and Lathe experience beneficial.
  • Basic electrical experience is beneficial
  • Use of precision measuring instruments required

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of general machine repairs (mechanical). Must have basic tools.
  • Capable of general building repairs.
  • Schematic and logic print reading capabilities
  • Must be computer literate
  • Capable of attending school (provided by and paid for by company)
  • Ability to work a 12 hour shift
  • Capable of working overtime on short notice, including call-ins for emergencies
  • High safety and cleanliness standards
  • Good communication skills within the department as well as with other departments
  • Dependability on a daily basis
  • Positive attitude, flexibility
  • Responsible
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and kneel.
