Mill Operator/Winder Operator

Essential job duties and responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the Calendar Operator to find out the plc settings for the mill or winder
  • Prepare and start-up the extruder, and mill also assist with threading the line up during start-up
  • Refeed rolls as instructed by the calendar operator
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures (Safety, 5S, and ARC policies)
  • Provide instruction for co-workers in the correct operation of the extruder and mill
  • Properly conduct quality tests and ensure proper use of  quality equipment
  • Keep the calendar operator informed if any of the quality tests are out of specification
  • Prepare all packaging materials for the orders according to the packaging instructions in CoAgo
  • Package rolls
  • Correctly enter QC and production data into CoAgo
  • Keep work area(s) orderly and clean according to 5s standards
  • Take care of the edge trims as well as any scrap rolls in the winder area
  • If the line is down clean the mill and winder area as well as the extruder hopper or hoppers

Educational and experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma/General Equivalency diploma

Job knowledge, skills, and ability requirements:

  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift
  • Positive attitude, flexibility
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds regularly
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately (metric and standard)
  • Basic math skills
  • General computer knowledge
  • High safety and cleanliness standards
  • Good communication skills within the department as well as with other departments
  • Ability to teach and coach fellow team members

Assistant Mixer

Essential job duties and responsibilities:

  • Be able to perform the entire mixing process and material handling system
  • Weigh all components according to the recipe that is in the ATR system
  • Change and clean the mixing blades
  • Clean the mixing tubs for color changes
  • Change totes on the tote station and have the ability to flush a tote station
  • Use ATR system
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures (5S, Safety, ARC policies)
  •  Manually draw up raw materials in the ATR system
  • Communicate with calendar line for changeovers and fill out mixing report
  • Ability to  manually use the Mucki’s
  • Communicate with the next shifts assistant mixer at shift change
  • Communicate any problems to the mixer
  • Make sure that material is being mixed far enough in advance so that the line does not go down
  • Keep all pigment totes full
  • Keep hand component bins full

Educational and experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma/General Equivalency diploma
