If recent events have taught us anything it’s the importance of maintaining a healthy work/life balance. American RENOLIT Corporation, La Porte understands this fact, and also recognizes the importance of celebrating the employees who make their business thrive. To celebrate their hard-working men and women, American RENOLIT continued their popular, long-running Family Fun Day to acknowledge their employees and families.
Held each year near the end of summer, the event invites RENOLIT employees to bring their families together for a company-sponsored day of fun activities. This year’s event was once again hosted at Zao Island in Valparaiso.
Melissa Gruber, Human Resources Manager for American RENOLIT Corporation, was on hand to welcome employees and their families.
“This event is mostly for the kids,” said Gruber. “That’s why this is one of our favorite venues because it gives the kids so much to do.”
Gruber feels that the importance of the employees cannot be overstated.
“It’s so important to recognize our employees and their families. We want them to know how much we appreciate them for all that they do. This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to them for all they do throughout the year,” said Gruber.
Ryan Alvarez was attending the event with his wife, Melissa Alvarez, who was recently hired into the company.
“I really think it’s great. It’s a terrific way for them to show how much they care about their employees,” Ryan Alvarez said.
This year’s event began with a catered lunch, held inside the Greenhouse at Zao Island. Following lunch, families were invited to enjoy fun activities, from video games to go-karts, laser-tag, miniature golf and much more.
Chris Griffin is a supervisor at RENOLIT, where he has worked for over 20 years. He was at the event with his wife and their children.
“We try to come to all the company events,” said Griffin. “It’s nice to spend time with co-workers outside of work, to see them have fun with their families, it’s a great way to see another side of each other.”
Nils Dietz, President of American RENOLIT Corporation, La Porte, stresses the importance of family.
“We are a family-owned company,” said Dietz. “We want to spend time here, to relax with our employees who work so hard every day.”
“We are very happy to be able to give something back to them for their hard work. Employee retention is very important to us at RENOLIT, and we want to let our employees know how important they are to the company,” said Dietz.
