A supportive and giving culture makes Four Winds Casinos the perfect place to build a career

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi’s Four Winds Casinos are always looking for talented people to enrich the experiences of their guests and help Four Winds grow. However, with Four Winds South Bend’s brand new 23-story hotel expansion, the need for outstanding individuals is greater than ever.

At Four Winds South Bend alone, there are over 300 open positions just waiting to be filled, not to mention the countless other positions available at all of Four Winds’ other locations. There are all kinds of full and part-time positions available,. Nail technicians, massage therapists, estheticians, chefs, servers, managers, housekeepers, cage cashiers, security officers--the list is endless. If you’re a team-oriented person who loves to serve and give back to guests, then Four Winds has the perfect spot for you.

There are many reasons why a person should consider a career at Four Winds, but what truly sets Four Winds apart from other workplaces is its culture. All Four Winds employees love to work together as a team and support one another, and this has created a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

Teamwork, respect, integrity, and fun are the core values every single employee upholds whether they’re a senior executive or a barista. Dana Hampel, director of talent acquisition, has worked at Four Winds for over 14 years and can’t say enough about how wonderful the culture is.

“My favorite part about Four Winds is our culture--everyone embraces it. One of the things I've always enjoyed is the amount of communication not just from the top down but from the bottom up. Our employees always have an opportunity to be heard and help us understand what their concerns are and what their recommendations might be. We even have an Aces Big Ideas program, so if you make a great recommendation that gets implemented, you can get a bonus,” said Hampel.

Seeking feedback from team members is an important aspect of Four Winds’ commitment to excellence. Frank Freedman, chief operating officer (COO) of Four Winds, often walks around the floor to chat with his employees and check in on how they’re doing. Management recognizes that it’s the little things that help build such a supportive culture, and they work hard to make those things happen.

“Our management team and the owners really understand that the employees are the ones who make us successful, and they invest a lot in us. Sometimes you don’t see that a lot at bigger organizations, but that’s what makes me most proud to work for Four Winds. Whether it’s training or tuition reimbursement or mentorship, they do what they can to help us be successful, and I think that’s what makes Four Winds stand out,” said Hampel.

Along with its supportive culture, Four Winds gives back to its employees in so many ways. Four Winds offers amazing benefits to both its part-time and full-time employees. Four Winds provides dental, vision, and medical insurance for its full-time workers; Four Winds also has a 401k retirement program that both full-time and part-time employees can partake in. All employees also receive paid breaks and PTO.

What’s particularly unique is Four Winds’ employee dining room which provides incredible hot lunches to employees every day for just $1. Employees also receive quarterly appreciation gifts as well as discounts for certain businesses in the area, such as a discount on their YMCA membership. Four Winds truly strives to recognize employees and take care of them.

“It's just such a great atmosphere to work in. Not only does it give you an opportunity to build a career, but it also allows you to be a part of a supportive team. It’s comforting knowing that Four Winds isn't just a hospitality industry; we really care about our community and want to give back, especially to our employees,” said Hampel.

Four Winds is ultimately a wonderful place to start building a career, and Four Winds is excited to invite the community to come and see for themselves what a Four Winds career has to offer. There will be a job fair on Monday, February 6 at Four Winds South Bend Recruitment Center which is located in Erskine Plaza at 1290 East Ireland Road, Suite D.

The job fair will be from noon to 4 p.m. Eastern and will be the perfect opportunity for people to come out and learn more about all the different positions Four Winds has available. Four Winds will interview and hire people on the spot as well as offer $500 and $1000 sign-on bonuses for select positions, so this is definitely a unique opportunity people won’t want to miss.

“Come with your A-game and get ready to be made an offer! We’ll get you through the new hire process, get you ready to go out on the floor, and help make Four Winds your new home away from home,” said Hampel.
