Six six-week-old husky-shepherd mix puppies arrived at the shelter this week. The mother's owner didn't bother having her spayed, but when she had puppies they didn't want them.
Now the Michiana Humane Society takes on responsibility to vaccinate the puppies, give them some socialization, and have them spayed and neutered before they can be adopted. And they will be spending Christmas together in a kennel instead of somewhere under a tree.
We are glad they are here where they will get all the care they need, and we are very confident they will be sleeping peacefully in new homes in the new year. (In the meantime, they are adorable!)
This is our work, the work you support. Thank you for caring.
