At last evening's Board of Directors meeting, I informed the members that in the first two months of 2015, the Michiana Humane Society has been responsible for 63 dogs, cats and rabbits being spayed or neutered. That compares to 125 in all of 2014.
Thanks to New Buffalo Animal Hospital, Michigan City Animal Hospital, Animal Wellness Center, and the Brown Mackie College Vet Tech Program, as well as the Pet Refuge ABC Clinic in South Bend, our pets have gone through surgery with no issues and most have gone home within a day or two of surgery.
Thanks for supporting the Spay/Neuter Initiative and helping us to reduce the overpopulation of unwanted pets in our community.
