Children and adults alike will be dazzled by “A Matinee of Music and Magic” at Footlight Theatre on Sunday, June 28.
Two well-known area acts will take the stage during this family-friendly show starting at 2 p.m.
First up is magician Matt Kalita, who is in his 38th year of thrilling audiences from here to Las Vegas where he spent three years performing at the former Circus Circus resort. Kalita's interactive tricks and feats of extrication will allow some audience members to become part of the show. Some of the tricks audience members may see will include "Zombie Ball," "Birds of Flight," "Head Stew," and "Straight Jacket Escape."
After a short intermission, Mary Kay and Peter Steele of the popular regional jazz/swing combo Me and the Boys will present “Songs from our Living Room.” The Steeles have made music together for more than 28 years both in bands and as praise team leaders at First United Methodist Church in La Porte.
