A La Porte County Life in the Spotlight: Kyle Nix

Kyle Nix graduated from McColly School of Real Estate in Valparaiso, IN. Since graduation, Nix has started his journey in real estate with the firm of Listing Leaders Premier. At this location, Nix’s official title is a real estate broker. Nix is grateful for the opportunity to land a job so quickly and by a company who has become family to him.

“All the leadership in the office is so supportive, they have set me up for complete success. Like a professional photo shoot and they even gave me my own business cards. There’s a strong family aspect there, and they make me feel like I’m going to succeed,” said Nix.

As one of their new brokers, Nix gets training while on the job. Recently, Nix and his fellow real estate agents got a sales lecture from a powerful real estate agent in the LaPorte area. This sales lecture educated Nix not only on how to be a better real estate agent, but how to become successful no matter the starting circumstance. This lecture furthered Nix’s pursuit and determination to making the community and the housing market a better place.

Nix decided to become a broker for a real estate agency because he realized he loved working with and helping out the community. Nix also wanted to pursue the career he has because he knows there is a need for educating younger adults who are in the housing market about financial literacy. His passionate desire of education to the community even stretches as far as wanting to start his own podcast that expands and assesses real estate and finance.

“I became a real estate broker because I wanted to inspire young people to bet on themselves,” Nix said.

As a newcomer to the Listing Leaders Premier agency, Nix has started doing open houses for them. So far he has only done two, but Nix is highly excited to continue the open houses, as well as advance to higher endeavors. Some of Nix’s responsibilities consist of communication between the seller and the possible buyers, getting people excited about purchasing a new home, and guiding these potential buyers and sellers through the processes of selling or buying their home. To Nix, the best part of his newfound career has been being able to meet new people every day and assisting them in every way possible.

Aside from being a realtor Nix classifies himself as a motivational speaker. Since Nix graduated from high school, he knew he wanted a bright future for himself, but he didn’t know how to get there. So through the process of COVID-19 and being a young adult attending college, Nix started to find a way to motivate himself and eventually others. Nix found this positive motivation by starting to make good small habits and then expand on them.

“I really just want people to achieve their dreams. I want to provide motivation to other people as well as good habits. When I left high school I had no clue what I wanted to do. I had to dive deep, research, and continually build myself back up. I realized one bad day should never knock you down,” Nix said.

In his spare time Nix attends the gym, Bethany Lutheran Church, and the LaPorte Intermediate Softball League. With his current career, Nix hopes to one day start awareness events for autism and suicide prevention.
