A La Porte County Life in the Spotlight: Aubria Clifton

Many communities have a deficit when it comes to healthy options, and people may not know where to start their healthy lifestyle or health journey, but one Michigan City local is flipping that script by challenging the negative stigma that surrounds health and healthy living. She is creating a judgment-free zone where a variety of people, whether they’re on a health journey or not, can feel welcomed.

Aubria Clifton has been working in the nutrition realm as a wellness coach, and for the past six years, she has been a distributor for Herbalife Nutrition. Herbalife is a 40-year-old company that is predominantly known for its health drinks and dietary supplements. She still wanted to be connected to health, but just being a distributor for a company is not where her passion lies.

Clifton went to Michigan City High School, and soon after graduating, she went to Kilgore College in Texas to obtain an associate's degree. Clifton came back home to further pursue her education. She graduated from Purdue University Northwest with a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in finance.

She took her passion for health and nutrition, with the support of her family and friends, to kick-start her own business that brings hope and health back to her community. She opened MC Hope Nutrition a little over a year ago. Customers can get healthy drinks, shakes, and meal replacements, but the restaurant is more than that. Not only does it mean a lot to Clifton, it has become a big part of her local community.

“I am where I am today because of the love and support of my family, friends, my team, clients, and my support system," Clifton said. "We all need one another, and I’m grateful to have the people I do in my life."

The feeling of support and family doesn’t stop there for Clifton, it goes beyond the door of MC Hope Nutrition. She knew there was a need for this in her community, and she wanted to make sure that she could provide that.

“I know there’s a need for a healthy, positive, and uplifting space where people can come together, have fun, be inspired, transform, and get connected,” Clifton said. “We get to be a beacon of life for the community because this is a non-judgmental space to allow people to soar past their limits and dream.”

MC Hope Nutrition is a big part of her life that has taught her a lot of things within the past year. Her greatest takeaway has been that, when you own a business, everything matters. Everything you go through in life prepares and aligns you, and MC Hope Nutrition was just that for Clifton.  When she isn’t working, Clifton can be seen enjoying her health shakes and teas. If she isn’t stretching and exercising, Clifton also loves to read and travel.

Whether you’re looking to better your health, on a health journey, or just want to stop in for a healthy drink, you can visit MC Hope Nutrition located in the Michigan City Town Center.
