The Southern Shore Art Association will present their 3rd Annual Juried Member’s Exhibit opening on First Friday, September 7th showcasing it’s members best works in painting, photography, sculpture, woodworking, glass and more. Jurors are Ann Fritz, gallery director at Indiana University Northwest since 1998, and Ed Maldonado, former curator of the Chicago Cultural Center.
Cash awards presented during the First Friday reception will total $600, the Paul Dunne Memorial Photography award of $100 will be presented and $450 of merit certificates will be awarded.
Awards have been donated by Jan and Anneke Dekker, Dekker Vacuum Technologies, Horizon Bank, Timothy Jeffry Aveda Salon, Sharpeye Framing Company, Joy of Flowers, Glenn L. Firme & Associates, The Framing Station, and Maxine’s Restaurant.
Join the artists for the award ceremony on Friday September 7, at 6pm, during the free Opening Reception at the Southern Shore Art Association Gallery and the monthly "First Friday" celebration in Michigan City’s historic Uptown Arts District. Light snacks and libations will be served.
