The second Saturday of each month throughout the summer until October features downtown La Porte businesses open late and special events. This 2nd Saturday is Cruise Night by the Michiana Antique Auto Club! Cruise Night is a fun evening in which well-over 400 classic cars cruise down Lincolnway in Downtown La Porte.
Businesses also have something special for the Cruise Night fun. Rocco’s Classic Gallery, a large antique shop on Lincolnway, will be having a sneak peak of their new second floor, multiple sales and refreshments. Edgerton’s, a travel agency on Jefferson Avenue, will be hosting their own “Cruise Night” featuring discounts on select cruises. They will also be having a drawing for a door prize, refreshments and tours!
Temple News Agency, right next to Edgerton’s on Jefferson Avenue, will have the New La Porte Drifters playing live at 6:00 pm with their mix of music including some from the golden age of swing. The intimate atmosphere and their eclectic mix of tunes will surely please all ages. Following the 2nd Saturday Cruise Night, visitors can join in on a dance to benefit the La Porte Jaycee’s being held at Friends Nightclub, 605 Washington Street.
