2nd Saturdays return for the month of August in Downtown La Porte August 10th from 5pm to 7pm with the Art Walk. Each month, Downtown La Porte businesses stay open late and celebrate community and a fun theme for all to enjoy. September brings the Dog Days Downtown and October is the Downtown Trick or Treat.
For the month of August, many people can enjoy an opportunity to enjoy some art downtown. Thaddeus C. Gallery will be featuring the works of owners Laura and Thaddeus Cutler, both extremely talented and offer a great setting for mixing and mingling. Worthington Fine Art Studio at 824 Indiana Avenue will have local artist Clinton Worthington painting live with some of his works on display.
Fun for the whole family is the downtown classic soda fountain and ice cream shop, Temple News Agency. Temple will be featuring caricatures by Dave Russell and music by James Neary. Lincolnway in Downtown La Porte will also feature additional locations hosting art. Roxy Music, at 1012 Lincolnway will have Artist Mary Ketchmark setting up out front, and Joe Tallerico "JET" will be doing an acoustic set outside.
Rocco’s Classic Gallery and Antique Junction, two great antique malls located on Lincolnway, will also have art. Rocco’s will be featuring a collection of limited edition prints by artist Terry Redlin and offering refreshments. Antique Junction will be featuring their photo booth for fun for the family and resident artist Carol Estes of Welcome to Carol World Photography.
