Tickets are on sale now for the 24th Annual Holiday at the Pops Concert, which will be held at 7pm on December 8, 2018 at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. The Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) is proud to host this traditional event that ushers in the season with symphony selections to stir memories and dazzling performances by local artists which fill the Civic with holiday music and cheer.
Proceeds from the event benefit HFL’s Healthy Children initiatives. In addition to funding grant projects that positively impact the health and wellness of the youth of La Porte County, HFL is also engaged in two special initiatives. The first is a three-year school-based prevention grant initiative that will help schools identify, implement and sustain evidence-based substance use prevention programs. The second initiative created a coalition that will address low-birth weight and infant mortality across La Porte County.
The concert will feature the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra directed by Associate Conductor and Interim Artistic Director Charles Steck. Steck is a familiar face at the Holiday at the Pops. He conducted the program in 2015 and has been a member of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra since 1980. Steck also performed as a special guest artist with the North American Brass Company.
Special guest artists for the 2018 concert are Mayor Mark & Mrs. Laura Krentz, Cripple Creek, Donna M. Mitchell and The Singing Company of La Porte County’s Children’s Chorus directed by Matthew Nelson.
In addition to the music program, attendees will be able to enjoy snacks and drinks which will be available for purchase at the event.
Balcony tickets are on sale now at holidaypopslaporte.org, and the cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. There are a limited number of $500 and $600 main floor tables still available that can also be purchased on the website. Main floor tickets sell out each year so plan to purchase yours today!
