2016 Michigan City Star Spangled Bicentennial Parade Details

Big_Parade_2014_Michigan_City037The Michigan City Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Michigan City Live Productions, Inc., and the City of Michigan City are proud to announce that the Michigan City Star Spangled Bicentennial Parade will step off on Franklin Street on July 2, 2016.

This year’s Patriotic Parade theme is “Honoring America’s Heroes”. We will be acknowledging our Veterans, the 1966 State Basketball Championship Team and celebrating Indiana’s 200th Birthday ! Mr. Warren E. Jones will be the Parade’s Grand Marshall.

With an 11:00 am start, the new parade route will step off from the Arthur Street/Ames Field area and proceed north to Detroit Street.

Lineup begins at 9 am CST on Franklin Street between Coolspring Avenue and Arthur Street.

All pre-judged units must be in line by 10:00 am CST. Applications will be accepted through Friday, June 24, 2016 at 4 pm at the Park Office located in City Hall, 100 E. Michigan Blvd., Suite 2, Michigan City, IN. Applications can be picked up at the Park Office, Ryan’s Irish Pub or can be found online at www.michigancityparks.com or the Michigan City Star Spangled Bicentennial Facebook page.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st Place and Honorable Mention in the following categories:
