Each weekend we bring you 10 Fun Things to Do in Northwest Indiana so you are never without something to do! This weekend, summer is in full swing with festivals, benefits, a war re-enactment, a block party and plenty more!

Crown Point Fabulous Food & Arts Festival 
Friday & Saturday, June 20 & 21~ 11:00a.m. - 11:00p.m., is the Fabulous Food & Arts Festival (formerly The Taste of Crown Point) Over 50 Arts and Crafters will take over around the Old Crown Point Courthouse. Over 30 Restaurants will serve up their specialties on the surrounding streets. A few restaurants that will be there are: Asparagus, Abuelo’s, Bubba Q Bar-B-Que, Carriage Court Pizza, Cooper’s Hawk Crown Town Grill, Jill’s Sweets & Treats, Lucrezia Ristorante, Muchos Tacos & More, Prime Steakhouse, Safe House, Season’s Restaurant, Sweet N Savory Delights, The Steak Station and many more to delight your taste buds.

City Wide Garage Sale in Crown Point 
This year the City of Crown Point will be hosting the City Wide Garage Sale during festival days. The City Wide Garage Sale is an event in which residents can register their sale that will take play Thursday June 19th through Sunday June 22nd. Anyone wanting to register their garage sale can do so on our website, www.crownpoint.in.gov. There is no charge to list your garage sale, a downloadable map will be available of all the houses registered on June 18th on the website

Only a Few days Left to Buy Tickets for the 2014 Summer Jam 
Combining elements of acoustic rock, folk, and pop, the chart-topping Sister Hazel is best known for hits including "Champagne High" and "All For You". Online ticket sales for Summer Jam Music & Food Festival will close Saturday at noon. Tickets are only $12 if you purchase them online! A limited number of tickets will be available at the gate for $20. So hurry and get your tickets now!

Firecracker 5K 
Franciscan Omni Health & Fitness will be hosting their 8th Annual Firecracker 5k Run/Non-Competitive Walk on Saturday, June 21st, 2014. This race is part of the Calumet Region Striders Gold Cup Series The race will begin at 7:30am and is held onsite at Omni Health & Fitness - 810 Michael Drive, Chesterton, IN. Race day registration will be available from 6:00-7:00am.

Kelly’s Cure Poker Run & Medical Benefit 
On June 21, 2014, a Poker Run and Medical Benefit will take place at Boomer’s Pub & Grub in Portage. The Poker Run will begin at 10:30am with a benefit to follow at 4:00pm. Raffle tickets are also being sold to raise funds for the McCammon family. The winner will be drawn at this event. All proceeds will be donated to Kelly’s Cure McCammon Family Medical Fund. The goal is complete healing for Kelly, who now resides in Florida with her husband and three precious children, so she can get back to her life as a wife and mother.

Crown Point Community Theatre 11th Season Free Preview 
From thought provoking modern dramas to family friendly musicals and from well known titles to region premiers, CPCT has something for everyone! CPCT is just a few minutes from where you live and work and you won't ever have a bad seat in our theatre! This free event includes hors d'oeuvres & a cash bar plus scenes from each of the shows.

La Porte County Historical Society Civil War Days 
The Civil War re-enactment for 2014 is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22 at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum. The Encampment will be open to visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days. This outdoor event features Civil War re-enactors encamped with all the trappings of the 1860’s. Demonstrations of camp life including crafts, cooking over an open fire, needlework, and a blacksmith will be on hand.

Porter County Museum Hosts Block Party June 22 
The Porter County Museum is excited to announce the second PoCo Muse Block Party! Join friends and neighbors for a cookout on the front lawn of the Porter County Museum on June 22, 2014 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. In addition to food, drink, and fun, the first exhibit from the Ogden Dunes Stories Project, Life in the Hour Glass, opens to the public!

International Friendship Gardens Outdoor Theater Performance of Midsummer Night's Dream set for Sunday, June 22
 A delightful way to have your children experience a play, surrounded by beautiful trees, lush grass, wonderful flowers and…creatures! Children are encouraged to come dressed as fairies and elves!

Portage Community Market 
The Portage Community Market will be held every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning June 1st and ending September 28th. Come and get great produce, crafts, and other items that come from local farms and businesses! Due to the construction of Founder’s Square, it will be held at Woodland Park for the 2014 season.
