Wanatah Scarecrow Festival
Enjoy arts and crafts, rides for children, a pork chop dinner, fish fry and pancake breakfast, a parade, scarecrow sculpting, fun runs for children and adults, music and variety acts, a car show, community merchant drawings, bingo and more!

Legacy Five Concert 
Legendary crooners Legacy Five will be performing at Portage High School on Friday night! Based off the legendary Catherdral Quartet, the group will perform their gospel and soul singing tour starting at 7pm.

5th Annual Hooked on Art Live Street Art Festival
Join us at Thomas Centennial Park in historic Downtown Chesterton, Indiana for the Hooked on Art Live Street Art Festival! Watch Live Street Artists utilize a variety of mediums to express their creativity; completing a work of art from start to finish over the course of a day. Delicious food, unique shopping, live music, and art activities for all ages are just a few of the highlights that will welcome you at the event!

Dunes Blowout 2016: A Festival of Performance and Ecology  
It's a FREE performance festival located right at West Beach. At the Blowout you can expect to see many diverse performances. And yes, it's all FREE with the beautiful West Beach dunes as your backdrop. There will also be food trucks...and of course, the trails and beach! The festival pays homage to the historic Dunes Pageant of 1917 - the largest performance ever in the dunes - that helped amplify the cry to save the dunes across the country.

Purdue Northwest Fall Sports Festival 
Seven teams will be competing simultaneously when the Purdue University Northwest Athletic Department hosts its first-ever Fall Sports Festival, set for Saturday, Sept. 24, at Hammond’s Dowling Park. The event, which will feature t-shirt and other giveaways, bouncy houses for the kids, music, local food trucks, and more, is free to the public and gates open at 11 a.m. CT.

Culvers Future Farmers of America Grand Celebration  
This is a “thank you farmers” event. 10% from all sales will be donated to local FFA chapters. There will be animals and games for the kids.

11th Annual RC Pilots Air Show
The Jean Shepherd Community Center will be hosting the 11th Annual RC Pilots Air Show featuring a candy drop for kids on Saturday, September 24th from Noon – 3:00pm. This event is free. Concessions will be available for purchase. The Jean Shepherd Community Center is located at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Drive in Hammond.

Valparaiso University Homecoming Symphony Concert
Please join Valparaiso University’s Symphony Orchestra in honoring faculty member, June DeForest, as she celebrates 25 years of teaching studio violin at the University. This concert will feature four riveting musical selections, including an original piece composed by conductor, Dennis Friesen-Carper. With special guest soloist and Valpo alumna, Megan Van Gomple (’01) joining in the festivities, audiences will surely find this concert very engaging.

PNW Sinai Forum: Kelly Turner  
Best-selling author Kelly Turner, Ph.D. will discuss her book, “Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds,” at 4 p.m. (CT), Sunday, Sept. 25 in the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex on the Purdue University Northwest Westville campus as part of the Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum series.

Join "Girls Like Us": Laura Freeman, Beckie Menzie, and Marianne Murphy Orland as they celebrate the ladies of the 60's: Lesley Gore, Petula Clark, Janice Joplin, Mary Wells, The Supremes and more!
