We're havin' a heat wave! The weather may be in the 80's for the final time of 2017, so be sure to get out and take advantage of some great Northwest Indiana with some fun events taking place in the Region!

Ladies Night Out at Zao Island 
Leggings & More would like to introduce you to our stylish, high quality & affordable fashions. We carry Women's Clothing, Plus Sizes, Children's, Mommy & Me and more. We'd also like to introduce you to several other local lady business owners and all they have to offer you from pampering to nutrition, you are sure to find everything you need to keep you looking and feeling fabulous!

Nativity Comedy Fest 2017 
Nativity will host a Comedy Fest on Friday, September 15th and Saturday, September 16th doors will open at 6pm and the show will begin at 7pm. Appetizers will be provided by Brendan Clancy and will also have a 50/50 raffle and a cash bar available. Tickets are $25 each or a table of 10 for $200

La Porte Night Bike Ride 
We have added one more Night Bike Ride for September 15 because of the weather cancellation on July 21. The ride takes you on a leisurely 13-mile starlit bike ride through the city. Please note this is NOT a race.

Lorie's Lakeside Century Bike Tour 
Lorie's Lakeside Century is dedicated to the memory of Lorie Kirkley who lost her life to a violent crime in 1999. Proceeds from the ride will benefit programs of the Valparaiso Family YMCA chronic disease programs including, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and Diabetes Prevention Program.

19th Annual Sunflower Fair 
The Sunflower Fair along Michigan Avenue in beautiful, historic Downtown La Porte is one of the largest area festivals with over 120 craft and nonprofit vendors. Enjoy a day with family and friends for food, entertainment, rides, and much, much more. Enjoy the many activities of the day- a rib cook-off, the Kiwanis Club of La Porte 5K run and fun walk, a sunflower contest, the Rumely art walk, rides, La Porte County Public Library Kids' Coloring Contest, Michiana Antique Auto Club Car Show, food and of course many other activities! Visitors may also see the many vendors- last year approximately 120 vendors participated!

World Cultural Festival 
Each year, the VIC's World Cultural Festival offers a variety of cultural performances, international foods, and awesome global music. Admission is always free and there will be food available for purchase. Come for a family-friendly day filled with food, shopping, and entertainment that will celebrate the cultural diversity of Northwest Indiana and the ever growing interconnectedness of our world. There will be authentic cultural music & dancing, international hand-made arts & crafts, educational and fun children’s activities, and several types of international dishes.

Bacon Fest Portage 2017 
Bacon Fest Portage 2017 is coming! Bacon Fest is free family festival. Come have bacon, play some games, and listen to some music. Last year we had over 7,000 attendees and this year we'd like to double that. We're planning big changes to Bacon Fest Portage this year and we can't wait to share those with you.

2017 City of Hobart Brews and Blues Festival 
This is a BrewFest event fundraiser that welcomes local breweries and beyond to our beautiful Festival Park on the Lake. General Admission Concert Ticket begins at 3pm granting entry to the 2 bands performing and a craft beer garden open for purchase. Unlimited Sampling Ticket begins at 3pm with several breweries serving unlimited samples of their product. Food will be available for purchase.

Hospice Hustle 2017 
Hospice Hustle 2017 is a peaceful ride of either 25, 62 or 100 miles through rural southern Lake County Indiana. Proceeds benefit non-profit Hospice of the Calumet Area, serving Northwest Indiana and bordering Illinois communities since 1981. Your support helps us continue our mission to provide care to those facing a life-limiting illness.

Chicago Street Theatre: An Intimate Evening with Acoustic Eidolon 
Acoustic Eidolon - Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire, otherwise known as "Acoustic Eidolon," return for another evening of enriching, uplifting music of their own special blend, "world music for the soul." Since their last visit in 2015, they've released their 12th CD titled "A Tree Finds Its Voice", inspired by their two new matched instruments, guitar and cello, carved from the same pieces of wood. Fans of Queen, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Alison Kraus, Tommy Emmanuel, Yo Yo Ma, Turtle Island String Quartet, Chet Atkins, or Doyle Dykes will recognize selections on this CD.
