Fall Harvest Festival
Begin the weekend on Friday, October 16 from 4:00-6:00pm with Trick-or-Treating. Wear your spookiest or silliest costume and go door-to-door in Valparaiso’s downtown to get some tasty treats from our restaurants and retailers. You can listen to live music, sit back, relax on a hayride, and take in the crisp autumn day downtown. 

Zombies at Star Plaza
The Zombies has gotten the surviving members of 1962-1967 lineup back together for a special U.S. tour celebrating the English rock band’s second studio album, “Odessey and Oracle.” A post on Facebook proclaims “We’re making history with this tour – who’s gonna come out and join us??”

Legends in Concert
Legends in Concert, the original and largest live celebrity tribute spectacular in the world, returns to Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Michigan City, Indiana October 15-17 in the Stardust Event Center. Show times are 7 pm on Thursday, October 15 and 8 pm on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. 

Garwood Fall Family Fun on the Farm
Don't miss out on Garwood Orchards' Fall Family Fun on the Farm event on October 17. There is a ton of great things taking place that day including: wagon rides, pumpkin painting, bounce houses, a magician, tours, and a special pumpkin boot camp. For more information call 219-362-4385. 

BoBB Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Grand Opening
Grand opening to the public open from 9am to 9pm. Live music, face painting, prizes, and more will be available! 

Portage Police Comedy Show
Bob Jay and Bill Bended Comedians will be bringing the funny at the Portage Police Comedy Night. For Tickets call the Portage Police Department at 219-762-3122. All proceeds benefit the Portage Police Department K9 Unit. 

Munster Ale Fest
Good times are brewing in Munster again, as the Munster Ale fest is returning after its hugely successful debut in 2014.The fun begins at 1:00 PM (Noon for VIPs) on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Munster’s Centennial Park (just across the street from Three Floyds Brewery!). 

Ballet Folklorico in Portage
Mariachi Real San Luis, Fiesta Mexicana Dance Company of Arizona and Ballet Folklorico Tapatio of NWI will all be performing at the 4th annual Fiesta Folklorico program, taking place on Saturday, October 17 at 7pm at Portage High School West. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are general admission and are only $10 for adults, $5 for students in grades K-12 and 4 and under is free. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $5 for students. Because last year's event hosted over 300 guests, Marissela Villanueva Lynch, director of the Ballet Folklorico Tapatio, suggests buying tickets in advance.

2015 PNC Sinai Forum Presents William B. Taylor
The 62nd season of the Purdue University North Central Sinai Forum will feature William B. Taylor, on Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. (CT) at the Blue Chip Casino Stardust Event Center, 777 Blue Chip Drive, in Michigan City. A state Department employee and former ambassador, Taylor will discuss “Russia: Threat to Ukraine and the World.” His years of service of the United States government placed him in the middle of hotspots of world conflict and strife: the Middle East and Eastern Europe. In Ukraine, he served as the U.S. ambassador. He undertook State Department assistance coordination in Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan and the 15 states of the former Soviet Union, overseeing security and humanitarian assistance.
