Used Car Show Extravaganza Coming to Porter County Expo Center 
If you are in the market for a pre-driven vehicle, this is a DO NOT MISS EVENT! Four dealers (Kennedy Mazda, Bob Rohrman Nissan, Grieger's Motors and Connors' Automotive) will be presenting HUNDREDS of quality pre-driven vehicles all in one location! The event be open to the public with FREE ADMISSION from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th and Friday, October 10, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 11! So come and spend your day finding that very special pre-driven vehicle that you've been searching for! We'll even have food vendors and a bounce house to keep the kids entertained!

Portage Township YMCA Trick or Treat Trail Walk 
It’s Halloween Y-style! Enjoy an evening out with the family while getting some exercise. Friday, Oct. 10 from 6-8 pm. Enter at the front door of the Y to purchase wristbands. From there, you’ll be directed to the outdoor trail, where candy treats will be provided by area business vendors. Wear a family-friendly costume and bring a flashlight to help you down the trail. Tickets at the door.

Haunted Hills Hospital Returns Each Weekend in October 
Haunted Hills Hospital has once again opened its doors and let its patients loose on Portage. See if you can survive a Haunt that takes you both inside and outside and as close to the edge of madness as you can come without needing to be locked in a padded room yourself. pen Fridays and Saturdays in October beginning October 3, Haunted Hills Hospital is located at 6112 Old Porter Rd, Portage, IN 46368. The cost is a $5 donation that goes to support St.Judes Children Hospital and the Gabriels Horn Womens Shelter.

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church will host a Port-A-Pit Event on October 11th, 2014 to Support the Work of the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department 
Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church is committed to the growth and improvement of our community and recognizes the vital roll our volunteer fire department plays to that end. We seek to demonstrate our appreciation to the fire department, as well as our commitment to community through this event. Please help us to support the Center Township Fire Department. The total profit of the funds raised through this Port-a-Pit event will be given to the Center Township Fire Department for their necessary, but non-budgeted items, as they continue to meet the emergency response needs of Center Township.

Fourth Annual Pint Fest To Take Place on October 11th 
In addition to sampling the best that over 30 different brewers have to offer, attendees can take part in a silent auction and multiple drawings throughout the afternoon featuring a variety of prizes including themed gift baskets, round trip airfare, golf passes, jewelry, and gift certificates to area businesses. All proceeds from the auction and drawings are split between the Porter Park Department and Porter Volunteer Fire Department for use on programming, training, equipment, and other community events. This year’s “Pint” takes place on Saturday, October 11th from Noon to 5:00pm (VIP Entrance at Noon – General Admission begins at 1:00pm) rain or shine under the big tent at Porter’s Hawthorne Park (500 Ackerman Drive). VIP Admission, which includes an extra hour of tasting, t-shirt, and commemorative pint glass is set at $50.

Celebrate Fire Prevention with the South Haven Fire Department on October 11  
This is a semi-formal dance. Bring your friends and have a great time. There will be live music featuring “For Us Cool Kids” and DJ Top Notch Music Services to follow. This is a night you will not want to miss. Tickets are available at the South Haven fire station and the South Haven Boys and Girls club.

There is no better way to celebrate the Halloween season than with tales of local haunts, many of which are open to the public.

Serenity Springs to Hold Sip & Stroll Open House on October 12 
Serenity Springs will be hosting the Sip & Stroll Fall Festival on Sunday, October 12th. The Sip & Stroll Fall Festival will allow guests to sample and purchase from local businesses while exploring the Serenity Springs grounds! The festival will include local restaurants, wineries, breweries, businesses, and some great entertainment.
