Festival of the Lakes live entertainment includes Nicole Jamrose and Smokey Robinson on Wednesday, July 17; Evolution (a Journey tribute band) and Bruce in the USA (a tribute band for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band) on Thursday, July 18; the Crawpuppies, Better Than Ezra and Lifehouse on Friday, July 19; Pro Letarians, Rakim and LL Cool J on Saturday, July 20; and the Jesus Enriquez Orchestra and La Original Banda El Limon on Sunday, July 21.

For the third year in a row, Lakeshore PAWS will host a dog walk to raise money for homeless pets on Saturday, July 20. During and after the walk, the event will feature music by the Crawpuppies, local food vendors, a beer and wine tent, entertainment for kids and adults alike, a variety of vendors and homeless pets to adopt from Lakeshore PAWS and other local rescues.

The Munster Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its annual Grape Escape event at Centennial Park, Munster, on Saturday, July 20, 2013. For a fee of $5 per person, festival-goers over the age of 21 can enter the tasting area for samples of local wine and beer from Buck Creek Winery, Easley Winery, and Madison County Winery, as well as Cavalier Inn.
Summer Symphony at Washington Park
As the weekend winds down, the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra (LCSO) will rev it up with an evening of Super Heroes. Bring a lawn chair or sit on a bench. This is a free event for the community.

On Friday, July 19, 2013 at 7:00 pm The Elaine Dame Trio will kick off the Lubeznik Center for the Arts’ musical series “Clef Notes: Jazz Club”. Elaine’s vocal style ranges from classic blues and jazz to Broadway and 40’s swing. Enjoy classic jazz in a casual club atmosphere.

Tis’ the season for night riding in Northwest Indiana! This weekend, the La Porte Parks and Recreation will host a leisurely 10-mile starlit bike ride at 9 pm on July 19th, Kesling Park.
Boiler Up for Andrew Golf Scramble
Andrew Fant was involved in a serious accident riding his bicycle to class this spring at Purdue University. Since then Andrew and his family have been through a great deal trying to help him recover. In an effort to assist the Fant family we are organizing a golf scramble. All proceeds will benefit Andrew and his family.
Soccer in the Sand Tournament
If you enjoy soccer and a sandy beach, then this tournament is for you and your team. The 2013 Soccer in the Sand Tournament will be held at the Washington Park Beach on Saturday, July 20th.
