Artists Gone Wild Silent Art Auction
Art and animals will come together at Artists Gone Wild Silent Art Auction, a fundraising event to be held on May 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at White Key Gallery, 404 E Lincolnway, Valparaiso, Ind. 

8th Annual Battle of the Badges Basketball Tournament
Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-South Haven Unit is now accepting reservations for teams from local police and fire department to compete in the 8th Annual “Battle of the Badges” Basketball tournament. The two-day “Battle of the Badges” Tournament will be held on Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 8th. Games begin at 6:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. All games will be held at the South Haven Unit, located at 723 Long Run Road in Valparaiso. 

Listen to Your Mother
The one night only show, Listen to Your Mother, will take place on May 8, 2015 at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm) at the Memorial Opera House. These motherhood stories will make you laugh and cry in the very best ways. Grab your moms, sisters, aunts, cousins and friends and get your tickets to the show now! 26th Annual La Porte Jazzfest
The La Porte High School Jazz Bands will present their 26th annual "JazzFest" on Friday, May 8, at 7:00 PM in the La Porte High School Auditorium. Performances will feature all LPCSC Jazz Bands with six professional guest artists. This year’s featured guest artists include: Jim Widner, Charles “Chip” McNeill, Allen Beeson, Paul McKee, John “Chip” Stephens, and Montez Coleman. 

“Love and Shrimp”
Fans of humorist Judith Viorst already know her target audience -- the WAMMMMs: those unsung throngs of White, Affluent, Middle-class, Middle-aged, Married Mothers. Viorst's several books have addressed themselves to life changes seen from that perspective, virtually decade by decade. Now, Crown Point Community Theatre is set to bring forth a cabaret-style show roaring with the WAMMMM voice – Love and Shrimp, directed by Natalie Franks with assistant direction by KeriAnne Valukis. The show will play weekends May 1-17, 2015. 

Beast Bootcamp 5k
Designed by the US Marines with part of the proceeds benefiting LOCAL Veterans you CHOOSE! A 3.1 mile course with stations along the course featuring Marine Corp boot camp exercises. Can anyone do it? Yes, ALL skill levels are invited to participate. You do not have to complete each station to come out and have a fun time! 

2015 K9 Unit Fundraiser at Culver's of Valparaiso
Join us Saturday May 9th, from 10:30 am-10:00 pm, as we support our Valparaiso Police K9 Unit. Culver's of Valparaiso will donate 10% of sales to help with expenses to feed, train, and care for the K9 Officers. 

Maple City Pub Crawl
Saturday, May 9th, from 5-8 pm, Downtown La Porte invites all residents of Northwest Indiana that are over 21 to explore the many dining and drinking options the downtown has to offer during the annual Maple City Pub Crawl. 

ARWPRO Live Pro Wrestling to Benefit Portage Scouts
On May 9th, 2015 ARWPRO Wrestling and Parents of Portage Scouts present Live Professional Wrestling. This high energy show will be at Woodland Park Oakwood Grand Ballroom at 6:30pm. Tickets are only $10!
