WVLP Hog Roast
Our annual Community Dinner known as "The Hog Roast" will take place this year, Friday, June, 17, at the Butterfield Pavilion. Tickets will be $20 and you eat until your stomach is stuffed. The menu, as always: pulled pork, chicken sides, pasta, veggie fare, beans, etc., plus desserts and beverages. Children 12 and under eat free with paying adult. Local entertainment provides the ambiance. KP Catering will put on the feast and Mike Willard has donated this year's hog. Our feast begins at 4 and last until 8PM.
26th Annual Celebrate Schererville Festival
From June 15 through June 19, the Schererville Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Town of Schererville, will be hosting the 26th Annual Celebrate Schererville Festival at Redar Park. This year’s festival will also help celebrate Schererville’s 150th Anniversary. There will be a large variety of food booths available to attendees of the festival. In addition, the beer garden, which will be operated by Firefighters Local 4279, will be open daily from Wednesday to Sunday.

The Portage 16 IMAX will be the place to be this weekend with major releases including Finding Dory and Central Intelligence to go along with hits like Warcraft, The Conjuring 2, and more!
Crown Point Food & Arts Festival
Over 80 Arts & Crafters will take over the lawn of the Old Lake County Courthouse in downtown Crown Point, while 30 restaurants and caterers will serve up their specialties on the surrounding streets. A kids area, live musical entertainment & a beer garden are all part of the fun. Event hours will be Friday June 17 11am-11pm and Saturday June 18 11am-11pm.
Superhero Saturday in Downtown Whiting
Unleash your inner super hero and soar into Whiting, Indiana on June 18th. Prepare to be blown away as the Whiting/Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce and City of Whiting present Super Hero Saturday in Downtown Whiting, featuring Famous Marvel Super Heroes- Captain America, Iron Man and Thor! Have a blast from 10am to 3pm meeting your favorite Marvel Avengers, and be sure to have your super powers on hand for games, costume contests, rock climbing and more! Put on your capes, reach for your shields and fly in to seize this free, family fun day.
Lakeshore PAWS Pup Crawl 2016
Come join us for our annual Pup Crawl celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. June 18 at Central Park Plaza at 68 Lafayette St. in Valparaiso. This year’s event will feature a dog walk at 6 p.m., various vendors, food, beer and wine, live music by The Crawpuppies and plenty of available dogs to meet.
The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra Presents: From Sea to Shining Sea
The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present From Sea to Shining Sea, a free summer concert made possible by the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation. Join us on Saturday, June 18, at 7 pm for a rousing musical celebration performed at the Guy Foremen Amphitheater, Washington Park in Michigan City.
La Porte County Historical Society Museum 6th Annual Variety Show
The 6th Annual Variety Show will be held at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum on Saturday, June 18th at 7 P.M. Always a popular event, the show will again be held on the lower level of the museum. In honor of Indiana’s Bicentennial, the theme this year is “Hoosiers in Music.” Some of the composers featured are Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, and La Porte’s own Grace Floering. Our talented local performers include Bob & Rose Marie Dure, Bruce Johnson, Cheryl Gardner, Laura Krentz, Jim Lampl, Grace Tarnow, Robert Richter, Mary Watterson, Maggie Cornett, Solitaire Miles, Susie Richter, Katy & Tim Gartland, Lindsey Baugh, and Matt Robinson. The doors will open at 6 P.M. and regular museum admission will apply.
Sinatra Forever at Wolf Lake
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Hammond Port Authority are proud to welcome Rick Michels’ and his 24-piece big band back to the Pavilion at Wolf Lake for Sinatra Forever on Saturday, June 18th. Sinatra Forever: A Salute to Frank Sinatra is a concert that pays homage to the greatest singer of all time.
Calvary Church Father's Day in the Park
Calvary's annual Fathers Day in the Park event is Sunday, June 19th at Central Park in downtown Valpo! The worship service starts at 11a, but come early to get your chairs or blanket set up on the grass (it's BYOBlanket or BYOChair for this event). Local vendors will be serving great food and cold drinks after the service until 2p so plan to stay to eat, visit with friends, and vote for your favorite vehicle in the car show.
