10 Fun Things To Do This Weekend in Northwest Indiana: Farm to Table, Red Shoe Dinner, and Fundraising Events


Each week we will be bringing you 10 fun things to do in Northwest Indiana over the weekend, so you are never without something to do! This weekend a farm to table dinner, a rescue appreciation day, a food and wine tasting, a fundraising dinner, an after dark gala, a recovery home dinner, a spaghetti dinner, an arts and crafts fair, an antique show, and a bowling bash are all on tap for a fun weekend in Northwest Indiana!

Come enjoy an apple & Indiana cheese tasting followed by a multi-course family style dinner showcasing amazing food from local farms. The meal will feature appetizers, main courses, vegetable side dishes, and delectable deserts served in The Barn at scenic County Line Orchard. The apple & Indiana cheese tasting will feature over 20 types of Indiana craft cheese.

Meet with some of Lakeshore PAWS’ adoptable pets on Saturday, November 3 during P.E.T.S. Rescue Appreciation Day. The P.E.T.S. Rescue Appreciation Day will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All proceeds from this event will be divided up and donated to the rescues in attendance.

The Red Shoe Party 18th Annual Food & Wine Tasting
On Friday, November 2, Harmony House/CASA Program of La Porte County, Inc. invites you to make a lifelong difference for abused or neglected children in our community. Harmony House/CASA is hosting The Red Shoe Party - their 18th Annual Wine & Food Tasting to raise both program awareness and needed funds to continue their efforts to support local children currently caught in the court and child welfare system.

Comfort Dog Fundraising Dinner
The community is invited to attend the Comfort Dog Fundraising Dinner on Saturday, November 3. Comfort Dog Ministries is a program of the Lutheran Church Charities (LCC), in which golden retrievers are trained to bring comfort, love, and a sense of peace and grounding for those suffering from trauma in their lives. Just the mere presence of a loveable companion brings immediate comfort to those in need.

The Chesterton Art Center is presenting the 4th Annual Art After Dark Gala on Friday, November 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Sand Creek Country Club. The event will include dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Silent auction items include a trip to Vegas, Wrigley rooftop tickets and a variety of handcrafted items.

WWRH 4th Annual Dinner
Worthy Women Recovery Home is hosting the 4th Annual Dinner on November 3. Come hear Dr. Spitler parent's version of educating our community. WWRH will also have 3 of their Ladies share their personal stories of hopelessness turned into HOPE and VICTORY because of WWRH's work in the Jail.

The Kibble Kitchen Pet Pantry will host a Spay-ghetti and No Balls dinner. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for a low cost spay/neuter program for low income Porter County residence. The event will include a spaghetti dinner, wine tasting by Butler Winery, silent auction, raffles, bake sale and more.

Ogden Dunes Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair
The start of the holiday seasons in the dunelands would not be complete without enjoying the fine offerings for sale, of some 30 area artisans at this annual and popular event. Delicious and warming concessions will also be available. Proceeds from all food items will benefit area not-for-profit organizations.

The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the Fall Antique & Collectibles Show Saturday and Sunday, November 3rd and 4th. Over forty vendors will be on hand with an enormous selection of fine antique items and collectibles. Food and beverages will be available.

Second Annual Bowling Bash
Leadership La Porte County is hosting its Second Annual Bowling Bash on Friday, November 2. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, awards for the most creative team apparel, and "The 'Champs'". Lots of fun, laughter, and much more!
