Downtown Valparaiso will come to life with the lights and sounds of the holiday season on Friday, December 4 from 5-7pm. Favorite holiday activities will center around the courthouse square with a live nativity display, free train rides and strolling carolers to give some holiday spirit.

Chesterton High School Music Dept Madrigal Dinner
Chesterton High School Music Dept. will present its 43rd annual Madrigal Dinners on Friday, December 4, Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6, in the school cafeteria. All seats are reserved and tickets go on sale for $30 per person at the CHS Music Office (Entrance 30 - Northeast side of the building across from the tennis courts) beginning on Monday, Nov. 23. Tickets will be sold on school days from 7:30-11:45 a.m. and 12:45-4:00 p.m. through Friday, December 4. No phone orders will be taken and there will be no exchanges or refunds. Performance times are Friday, Dec. 4 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 5 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Salvation Army Michigan City: Stuff-A-Sleigh
Every December, Al's Supermarkets partners with The Salvation Army Michigan City Corps and Community Center and WEFM 95.9 to help restock The Salvation Army's shelves for Christmas. They will have pre-filled bags with items most needed, or $5 meat vouchers ready to pick up at every register, OR pick up any item you would like and give as a donation.
2015 Hammond Holiday Parade
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott Jr. and the Hammond City Council presents the 2015 Hammond Holiday Parade, featuring Grand Marshall "Ralphie" from Theatre at the Center's "A Christmas Story"! The Holiday Parade begins at 10:00am on Saturday, December 5th at Gavit High School and will end at 169th Street.
Portage Christmas Parade and Park Lighting
The City of Portage will host its Annual Christmas Parade and Park Lighting on December 5, 2015. The parade will start at 3:45pm and will go from Willowcreek Middle School south down Willowcreek Road to Gilbert park. Santa will arrive via Fire Truck. The park will be lit at dusk (4:40pm). Free poses with Santa will be available, just bring your camera. Cookies and Cocoa will be available for purchase, and carolers will be present. We will read a Christmas book from our local author, Joe Mokol.
25th Annual Michigan City Festival of Holiday Lights
Join us for the count down as all of the holiday light displays in Washington Park are turned on at once! You will not soon forget this breath-taking moment! Nearly 30 acres of decorations, 40 displays, 2 miles of extension cords, and millions of bulbs are on display! Lights are on every evening from December 5th through early January 2016. Park entrance is FREE during this time, however, donations are welcome.
