The LimeLights Youth Theatre Program is back at it again with their Christmas Charity Event, and this year is bigger than ever. They are teaming up with The Memorial Opera House Foundation and many of their loyal volunteers to bring a warmhearted and entertaining family friendly performance on top of a few fun little additions.

The City of Crown Point hosts the The Tour of Lights is taking place Monday – Saturday from 5-9pm at the Crown Point Civic Center located at 101 S East St.
Stories provided by the Crown Point Library prior to the trolley rides. The trolley will tour the city viewing homes on the route that are decorated for the holiday season!

December 15th - Mommy's Little Piggy Eating Contest

Indiana Welcome Center - Hammond, IN

The infamous scene in "A Christmas Story" where Randy Parker eats his mashed potatoes like a "little piggy" will be recreated during this messy event.  See if you can eat the most mashed potatoes the fastest or just come to watch this mess unfold!  There are four age groups - 4-7, 8-12, 13-17 and 18 and over. Pre-register online. Please bring in canned food/non-perishable items as an entry fee that will be donated to the Northwest Indiana Food Bank. After the event, participants can view the exhibit, catch a showing of the "A Christmas Story" movie, decorate a cookie, create a craft, vote on your favorite tree and take a picture with Santa atop Santa's Mountain and slide into a pillow of snow. Fun for all ages!

Over the last 10 years, through the Share the Love Event, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $118 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national and over 1,170 hometown charities. On December 15th, we encourage the community to stop by International Subaru of Merrillville and help 'fill the trunk' with warm blankets, hats, gloves, and scarves that will then be delivered with a warm meal to Meals on Wheels recipients.
