2015 April First Friday at LCA: Poetry Slam
Lubeznik Center for the Arts will present a Poetry Slam with J.W. Baz as the host. Poets are invited to showcase their works in a raucous audience-juried event. Participants should prepare three original pieces, each under 3 minutes in length. Each poet will be provided the opportunity to present one of their works. In tournament style, poets will be eliminated each round until one is left standing as the Poetry Slam Champion. Light bites catered by Shoreline Brewery.

Help Me Mommy Continues Rocky Horror Picture Show in Northwest Indiana
In the basement of Hobart’s Art Theater, there’s a brightly painted green room filled with wigs, fishnets and plenty of sequinned corsets. With racks of costumes, makeup bags strewn beside mirrors, and plenty of six inch heels - these items are adorned for a lost couple, a manufactured man, a groupie, a couple of aliens, and for that sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania. 

La Porte Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt to Take Place on April 4, 2015
The LaPorte Jaycees are having their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Laporte County Fairgrounds. This is a free event, and this year the Easter Egg Hunt will be in the carnival section of the fairgrounds which is a new location. The Easter Egg Hunt will start at 9 a.m sharp (rain, snow, or shine)! Arrive early and get pictures taken with the Easter bunny beginning at 8:15 a.m. The hunt is divided into four age groups 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12 and there are prize eggs in each age group. Only the 0-3 age group may have help from parents. No strollers allowed. Please bring Easter baskets or bags for your children to use during the hunt. There will be raffle tickets to purchase at a $1 a piece to try and win one of our awesome raffle baskets. 

Michigan City Police Easter Egg Hunt set for Saturday, April 4, 2015
On Wednesday April 1st from 8am until we are done we will be filling the plastic eggs with candy. This will take place in the Senior Center located in Washington Park. Refreshments and drinks will be provided throughout the day. Lunch will be served at 11:30am. Please stop in for a few hours to assist. All volunteers are welcome. 

2015 Ringing in Springs 5K and 10K Run, 5K Prediction Walk and Kids Run Run
Come help Ring in Spring, with the Annual Ringing in Spring 5K, 10K, 5K Prediction Walk or the Kids Fun Run on Saturday, April 4th at the Valparaiso Family YMCA. This run benefits the Y’s Annual Community Assistance Campaign, which helps members of our community with financial aid for Child Care, Y memberships, Summer Camp and much more. The race begins at 9am, the walk at 9:10am and the Kids Fun Run at 10am.
