Where to begin, this weekend has several fun things to do like the popping Valparaiso Popcorn Festival, stylish Lubeznik Center for the Arts: Friday Night Fever, tasteful Wine Down Summer, watery Dunebrook's 5th Annual Dragon Boat Races and more. September 7: Lubeznik Center for the Arts: Friday Night Fever - Michigan City, IN
Guests will enjoy a retrospective collection of high-end '80s fashions constructed of unique fabrics with signature accents by ANKO (Anneke Dekker-Olthof), owner and designer of ANKO Fashions.

September 7: Wine Down Summer - Munster, IN
Wine donated by Republic National Distribution Company Beer provided by Indiana Beverage. Tickets available at the Cancer Resource Centre or day of event, early bird tickets eligible for door prizes.

September 8: VHS Boys Soccer Alumni Day - Valparaiso, IN
All Former VHS Boys Soccer Alumni get in free and honored after the JV game. Alumni Game & Picnic at the conclusion of the varsity game.

September 8: Dunebrook's 5th Annual Dragon Boat Races - La Porte, IN
Dunebrook’s Dragon Boat Races return to LaPorte’s Stone Lake on Saturday, Sept. 8, beginning at 9am. Paddlers in dragon-inspired vessels race to a drummer's beat toward the finish line. Teams race in 3 heats in a 300 m. course on Stone Lake.

September 8: First United Methodist Church of Westville Car Show - Westville, IN
The Celebration Car Show is hosted by the Westville United Methodist Church Resale Shop as a way to say ‘Thank You’ to all the volunteers and those who have donated to the store over the years.

September 8: Valparaiso Popcorn Festival - Valparaiso, IN
This long-standing community tradition pops up for its 40th year, packed with fun activities for all ages. 250 arts & crafts booths, 35 food booths, kids’ games, two live music stages and the nation’s first Popcorn Parade are only the beginning of the excitement of this incredible festival.

September 9: Race to the Rescue - Hammond, IN
Join the City of Hammond and Hammond Port Authority as we honor our first responders at the Third Annual Race to the Rescue on September 9, 2018. Participants can choose from a 9K run, 5K run/walk, cycling road race, and kids races.

September 9: Flashback Cinema: King & I at the Portage 16 IMAX + GDX - Portage, IN
You’ll “whistle a happy tune” while “getting to know” this popular Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, based on the real-life experiences of a 19th century Englishwoman who taught the children of the King of Siam.
