We have found great things to do all over Lake, Porter, and La Porte County so get out and have some fun on the last weekend of 2014! See a Show at the Portage 16 IMAX 
The Holiday Season brings big movie releases to Northwest Indiana each year and this year is no exception at the Portage IMAX! See The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Night at the Museum 3, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Annie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, and other great releases this weekend! Still two shows remaining for Cirque du Jazz: A Nutcracker Tale
Still two shows remaining for Cirque du Jazz: A Nutcracker Tale--December 27 at 7 p.m. and Sunday December 28 matinee at 3 p.m., presented by South Shore Dance Alliance and the Wirt-Emerson Dance Department. Performances are at Griffith H.S. Auditorium, 600 N. Wiggs St, Griffith, IN 46319. Tickets at the door are $12 adults, $8 kids and seniors.

A Christmas Story Comes Home Now on Display through January 4th
The Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond features six animated display scenes from "A Christmas Story." The displays include Higbee's Department Store Window, Flick's Tongue and the Triple Dog Dare, It's a Major Award, Santa's Mountain at Higbee's, The Bumpus Hounds and A Hero's Dream.

Comics & Code Exhibition at Lubeznik Center for the Arts
Comics & Code explores the contemporary relationships between words and images through comic illustration, objects and animation. Exhibiting artists are Turtel Onli (co-curator), Juan Arevalo, Jun Ogasawara, Paul E. Schultz, Corey Roc Bottom Davis, Philo Barnhart, Sean McGuinness, Cory Hamscher, Gina Wynbrandt, and Arie Monroe.

Walking in a Whiting Wonderland
A first for the City, and kicking off the festivities is the Whiting Lakefront Holiday Light Spectacular. This drive-thru display of lights will be set up in beautiful Whiting Lakefront Park and consist of over 100 different holiday light displays. Stay warm in the car with family and fix your eyes on the twinkling holiday lights along the lake. Some of the sparkling displays include a Penguin Winterfest, Toyland, a Teddy Bear Village, and Reindeer and Santa Band. The holiday lights will be lit at dusk each day from November 28th until January 5th for public viewing.

Winter Lights Drive Through
Don't forget-The Winter Lights Drive Through is open for the season EVERY DAY, now through January 1st. The lights turn on at 5:00pm and are on until 9:30pm each night. The drive through is always free of charge, but donations to the Parks Department are welcome at the gate!

Head to JAK's Warehouse!
Take the kids out to JAK's Warehouse this weekend for family fun time. Arcades, laser tag, laser maze, Ballocity, Sky Rail... all great ways to burn some energy and have an awesome time!

Laser Tag at Zao Island
Get your friends out and into the arena a Zao Island. A few rounds of laser tag are always a good idea. Take out the stress that accumulated during holiday shopping with some fun and friendly competition.

The Complete Frida Kahlo: Her Paintings. Her Life. Her Story
Over 100 hand-painted licensed recreations of Kahlo's paintings, costumes and artifacts. Exhibit runs November 16, 2014 - January 25, 2015. Special events include Free Family Fun Day with Frida on December 14th from 12-3 and a VIP reception & Wine Tasting on Tuesday, January 20th from 6 - 8 p.m. South Shore Arts Gallery is located in the Center for Visual & Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN. 24th Annual Festival of Holiday Lights in Michigan City's Washington Park
You will not soon forget this breath-taking moment! Nearly 30 acres of decorations, 40 displays, 2 miles of extension cords, and millions of bulbs are on display! Lights are on every evening from December 6th through early January 11th, 2015. Park entrance is FREE during this time, however, donations are welcome.
