The 24th Annual Festival of Holiday Lights in coming to Michigan City's Washington Park on Saturday, December 6.
DUE TO THE FRANKLIN ST BRIDGE CLOSURE, PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING DETOUR:
Eastbound on Hwy 12, turn left onto Center St (just over the bridge by Blue Chip Casino), follow Center St (which turns into Krueger Ave) to Lake Shore Dr. Turn left onto Lake Shore Dr. then turn right into Washington Park. All events take place at the Senior Center in Washington Park.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS PARADE
3:30 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Bundle up and pick the perfect spot along Parker Parkway to watch parade participants bustle along their merry way. The parade kicks off in the main parking lot promptly at 3:30 and leads parade marchers, floats and some very special VIP’s past the Senior Center and into Fedder’s Alley.

Horse and Wagon Rides in the Park
4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Want to take in all of the beautiful holiday lights old-fashioned-style? Just in front of the Senior Center, hop on the horse-drawn wagon and take a brisk ride throughout the park. What a great way to get into the holiday spirit. There is no fee for this attraction. However, we are requesting monetary and non-perishable food donations on behalf of The Salvation Army at this location. Please help us make the holidays a little more enjoyable for families in need!
Complimentary Hot Chocolate and Cookies
4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (or while supplies last)
Warm up with some steamy hot chocolate and yummy cookies.
Pictures with Zoo Mascots

Your friends at the zoo are eager to see you again! Just inside the Senior Center, characters will be available for photos for a small fee. So, be sure to bring your best smile!
Official Lighting of the Festival of Holiday Lights 4:30 P.M.
Join us for the count down as all of the holiday light displays in Washington Park are turned on at once! You will not soon forget this breath-taking moment! Nearly 30 acres of decorations, 40 displays, 2 miles of extension cords, and millions of bulbs are on display! Lights are on every evening from December 6th through early January 11th, 2015. Park entrance is FREE during this time, however, donations are welcome.
