Boston Middle School Students Aspire to Become Entrepreneurs

Izzit-Grant-Awards-01Boston Middle School students were given the opportunity to research and study entrepreneurial skills and ideas. Students then wrote essays to express their entrepreneurial ideas. These essays were judged and scored. Top students were awarded cash prizes totaling more than $5,000. The grant funds were explored by Boston Middle School teacher, Bonnie DeWolf, through izzit.org.

izzit.org is a not-for-profit organization that provides teachers with free educational videos as well as other resources and services designed to promote critical thinking in students. Thanks to a grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, izzit.org has sponsored an essay contest in three schools this year, including Boston.

Students came up with ideas for businesses and products, as well as honed their writing skills. They also had the opportunity to win cash prizes.

izzit.org serves more than 300,000 teachers across the US in over 44,000 schools. Millions of students watch izzit DVDs, filmed around the world, each year.
