La Porte County Library Showing Documentary on Lyme Disease

la-porte-county-public-libraryMay is Lyme Disease Awareness Month. In collaboration with the La Porte County Health Department, La Porte County Public Library will show the documentary "Under Our Skin" on Monday, May 12th at 6pm in the Large Meeting Room at the Main Library location.

According to IMDB, "Under Our Skin" exposes the hidden story of Lyme disease, one of the most controversial and fastest growing epidemics of our time. Each year, thousands go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, often told that their symptoms are "all in their head." Following the stories of patients and physicians fighting for their lives and livelihoods, the film brings into focus a haunting picture of the health care system and a medical establishment all too willing to put profits ahead of patients.

The showing of “Under Our Skin” at La Porte County Public Library is free to the public.

The Main Branch of the La Porte County Public Library is located at 904 Indiana Avenue in La Porte. Other library locations include Coolspring, Rolling Prairie, Fish Lake, Kingsford Heights, Hanna, and Union Mills. The La Porte County Public Library also has a mobile library that travels throughout La Porte County.
