Winter Nature Camp offers two days of fun in the dunes
Night hikes, a campfire, s'mores and… skiing? Summer camp gets a "cool" twist at Dunes Learning Center's Winter Nature Camp, February 8-9.
A sure-fire antidote for cabin fever, this two-day adventure camp promises to keep 3rd through 6th grade students busy with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities as they play and explore in Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
Dunes Learning Center is located in the heart of the dunes, encircled by scenic trails, historic sites and one of the most diverse ecosystems in the nation. While at camp, kids stay in heated group cabins that accommodate eight people (seven campers and one counselor). Each cabin is equipped with bunk beds, bathroom facilities and a shower. Campers gather inside Cowles Lodge—the colorful center of camp life, where excited voices fill the multi-purpose dining hall and activity center.
Winter Nature Camp tuition includes lodging, meals, activities and memories that will last until summer (and beyond!). Dunes Learning Center will host two camp information sessions—one on January 14 at Dunes Learning Center and a second on January 15 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago.
