RESCHEDULE: Local Lore Series Begins at La Porte County Public Library

la-porte-county-public-libraryDue to the State of Emergency for the weather, the La Porte County Public Library was closed January 6 and 7, which lead to programming scheduled for those days to be rescheduled. The program entitled "Local Lore: Genealogy Chat", which will explore historic elements of La Porte County, was originally set to be presented on Tuesday, January 7, but due to the Library closing, it has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 28, at 6:30pm in the Indiana Room at the Main location of the La Porte County Public Library.

Local Lore: Genealogy Chat will allow those researching their family histories to discuss their findings and share stories of their ancestors. It will also be an opportunity to gain information on how and where to research their family tree.

The presenter of this topic is Sue Harmon, who searched for her family history and found many fascinating stories of her ancestors, including a story of how a family member was killed by a tiger in the United States. There will be opportunities for all to share their stories and genealogy findings.
