Josephine Mulligan of the Indiana University Northwest volleyball team was named the first recipient of the Sparta Dome RedHawks Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the OnSet Tournament in Fort Wayne.
Last weekend, Mulligan finished with 89 assists, 20 kills, six aces, 10 block assists and 43 digs. The 31 assists against Lawrence Tech tied a season-high, while the five block assists in the same match were a career-best. The Saint John, Ind., native also picked up her 1,000-career assist.
Through eight contests Mulligan leads the CCAC in assists (165) but is tied for fifth in digs (85) and is eighth in kills (47).
The RedHawks travel to the Siena Heights Tournament this weekend, where they go toe-to-toe with Siena Heights and Bethel (Ind.) Friday, and then Midway (Ky.) and Spring Arbor Saturday afternoon.
