8th grade Reading students in Miss Sietsma’s and Mrs. Collins’ classes ended their short story unit with a quilt project. Students were asked to select one of the short stories studied from the literature book and create a quilt square which depicted the story and explained the story’s theme. Once all of the squares have been completed, they will be sewn together to create a class quilt which will hang in the classroom.
