La Porte vs. Portage Boys Basketball 2023

The La Porte Slicers closed out their regular season conference schedule with a win at home on Friday night, defeating the visting Portage Indians 56-54 in a thriller. Kyle Kirkham led the Slicers in scoring posting 25 points and hitting six 3’s. Ja’Meriyon Cross also hit a double digit point total, contributing 11 to La Porte’s win. Portage’s Michael Wellman led both teams in scoring, putting up 28 points in the Indians’ close effort.
The win puts La Porte’s season record at 16-6, while Portage drops to 12-8.
