Beginning November 1st, the Footlight Players will introduce you to Barney Cashman (Dean Johanson) who has decided at middle age to join the ‘sexual revolution’ thus becoming THE LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS. This loveable conservative 47-year-old seafood restauranteur makes three attempts to pay his dues. The first conquest we meet is the cold, calloused Elaine Navazio (Danielle Bilderback). She is a gal in her 30’s who’s not afraid to call them as she sees them. Her flippancy and tobacco addiction makes this a hilarious failed attempt. Lady #2 is the sweet but definitely daffy Bobbi Michelle (Alayna Lauritsen). We are never quite sure that all the trouble that seems to plague her is reality or fantasy, but just following along as best we can is a riot to watch. As fast-paced as this assignation goes it ends in peaceful haze. The 3rd ‘victim’ is the family friend, Jeanette Fisher (Patty Martin). This pocket-book clutching bundle of nerves is deep in marriage problems and has more depression than the National Debt. Although this 3rd attempt to find love in the afternoon is as full of laughs as the previous two there is a beautiful poignancy in its ending.
