Healthcare-Foundation-of-La-Porte-logoThe mission of the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) is to empower residents to live healthy and well in and around La Porte, Indiana to achieve the vision of La Porte becoming one of the 10 healthiest communities in Indiana by 2030. In pursuit of this mission and vision, HFL has grant applications for health and wellness projects available until February 22, 2019.

HFL has two types of grants that organizations may apply for – Strategic Grants and Responsive Grants. Strategic Grants are grants of any amount that address specific board-approved major community needs with a defined impact on health and wellness. The three Strategic Grant Areas are Healthy Children, Healthy Living, and Healthy Minds. Responsive Grants meet community’s health and wellness needs that fall outside of the three Strategic Grant Areas and demonstrate a connection to HFL’s mission and vision. Responsive Grant requests may be up to $25,000.

HFL will have two identical grant cycles in 2019, giving applicants the flexibility to select the cycle that works best for their organization and project timeline. Grant Cycle 1 is now open and closes February 22, and Grant Cycle 2 will open May 28 and close July 9. Organizations with programs and services that impact the health and wellness of the residents within the City of La Porte and surrounding areas should consider applying.
