The LaPorte High School Marching Band received a Gold Division Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic A Class State Prelims held October 6, at Plymouth High School, and advanced to the Scholastic Class State Finals. The band also received the designation of “With Distinction” for their high score in the visual caption.
The following Scholastic A Class bands qualified for the State Finals and are listed below in performance order:
Chesterton, New Castle, Northrop, Warren Central, Perry Meridian, Westfield, Snider, Terre Haute North, Lowell, Mt. Vernon, Terre Haute South, La Porte, Columbus East, Bedford North Lawrence, Lafayette Jefferson, Warsaw.
The ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals will be held October 20 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. La Porte will perform at 8:03 PM E.S.T., 7:03 PM La Porte time. Complete schedules are available at www.issma.net.
