La Porte High School Announces 2017 Christopher Iselman Writing Award Winners

La-Porte-Community-School-CorporationThe English Department of LaPorte High School proudly announces the winners of the 44th annual Christopher Iselman Writing Awards. The LPHS English Department has awarded these honors annually since 1974.

Christopher Iselman was a member of the LPHS class of 1970. When Chris died during his senior year, his parents and teachers honored his love of writing by establishing these awards. Students may submit writing in four categories. The submissions are judged anonymously by LPHS English teachers. Students submitted 219 entries this year.

Each winner has received a plaque, and the winning entries will be published on the LPHS social media sites. In addition, the winners’ names have been added to the large permanent plaque displayed in the LPHS English Office.
