La Lumiere School senior, Julia Goodman, of La Porte, Indiana was invited by Chicago artist and gallery owner, Ian Sherwin, to feature her portrait “Brendon Urie” (lead singer of Panic! at the Disco) in his art gallery. Goodman’s drawing is one of 13 other works of art to be displayed on Friday, Nov. 11 from 7 to 11 p.m. as part of the Ian Sherwin Gallery’s Group Show.
Julia, who is the only teenager to be featured in the show, says, “I’m going to be in the front room of the gallery which is really exciting, but I am a little nervous about all the attention being on me. This is a very exciting opportunity though, and I would really like to start doing commissioned work now.”
In addition to the advanced art and art portfolio classes she takes at La Lumiere, Julia is also a member of the choir, she plays the ukulele and guitar, and she is a member of an all-girls rock band with other La Lumiere classmates. Julia has plans to apply to Columbia College Chicago, San Francisco Art Institute, and Savannah College of Art and Design to major in art and music after graduating from La Lumiere.
