St. John the Evangelist Parish Festival
The festival fosters an atmosphere of community and fellowship. Helping at the festival is one of the best opportunities to meet your fellow parishioners and make new friends. Please join us in 2016 and let’s make this year’s fun for everyone

Portage on the Move - Fitness Friday 
If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. Join your neighbors and friends in a walk, run, bike ride or family stroll on a 5k course starting and ending on the walking trail behind the Portage Township YMCA. No timing - not competitive. This event is just for fun.The change in Portage starts with you. Let's get on the move!

Memorial Opera House Presents Grease 
Local young talented performers will be portraying the characters from the beloved musical that we all know and love, Grease! Opening on July 15th, 2016 and running through July 30th, 2016, with showings every Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday’s at 2:00 pm. Come take a trip back to a simpler time as 'bad boy' Danny and 'the girl next door' Sandy fall in love all over again in the original High-School musical. Featuring the unforgettable songs including Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin', Beauty School Drop Out, and many more, this show is sure to get you in that Hand Jive mood.

Portage IMAX Movies 
Ghostbusters joins an already-awesome lineup of movies this weekend at the Portage 16 IMAX! See The Secret Life of Pets, Legend of Tarzan, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and plenty more!

Disc Golf at Rogers-Lakewood Park 
Players will have a wonderful time playing 24 holes of a championship caliber disc golf throughout this scenic park. The diverse course has a superb variety of holes and shots that will challenge players of all skill levels. With groomed fairways through rolling hills, the scenery is second to none. The signature 14th hole measures 590 feet and runs down the luscious Derby Downs sledding hill. The course is free to park guests; entrance fees to Rogers-Lakewood apply.

La Porte Farmers Market 
An outdoor market where you can buy direct from the producer vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, baked goods, flowers and on-site prepared local food! I have been asked to bring a “pure” market to La Porte, as stated above, meaning no craft or flea market type products. Ninety-Five % of what will be at the market will be sold by the producer or their knowledgeable help and/or the maker of the product. You will have a choice between product grown/raised/made organically, no antibiotics, hormones, humanely raised or done the old fashion way.

Chesterton European Market 
Join us for Northwest Indiana's Premier Artisan and Farmer's Market starting every Saturday from the beginning of May through the end of October in historic downtown Chesterton. The Grape Escape at Centennial Park 
Sample selections of wines, enjoy food from around the region, listen to the sounds of live music, browse the art fair, artists and crafts, as well as our ethnic market featuring home-made goods, fresh fruit and vegetables. Live music with all female fronted bands features Frisky & Taylor with special guests Natale Gelman, Heather Styka, Rachael Kilgour, Jerica Paliga and more!

Bands and Brews at the Griffith Historical Park
Our third annual Bands 'n' Brews fund-raiser will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 15th & 16th, from 6 to 11 p,m, at the Griffith Historical Park, 201 S. Broad Street The event features all three of Griffith's own microbreweries, as well as the Mitch Barker Band on Friday, and the Wise Guys on Saturday. Food will be available for purchase, as well.

FOP #75 Fly In/ Drive In Pancake Breakfast 
Come out to the airport for an all you can eat pancake breakfast! Price $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Ages 4 and under are free. Airplane rides and skydiving will also be available for an additional cost. Airplanes, Michigan City police vehicles, fire trucks and "EDITH" house will be on display. Free parking. Family friendly fun event!
